Coachdean's Coaching Philosophy




My involvement in the sport of triathlon has been one whereby I am constantly trying to achieve a balance between training and other commitments.

In my coaching I stress the need for a balance between home life, hobbies, work and other commitments.

The focus is on "the process of training" and having fun while doing it.
My athletes learn to listen to their bodies and to train with them not against them.
The importance of Consistency is stressed in order to reach a higher level of fitness.

Athletes are given feedback at sessions and also feedback from weekly plans and races in order to evaluate progress and try and minimize injuries and sickness.

Most people have so many time commitments that they have a tough time trying to fit in all the training. I help find creative solutions and advise key workouts that make it possible to achieve results so that training and other commitment are kept in balance.
